A Big Year for the California Indie Band Cold War Kids

Evan Loring

Based in Pembroke, Massachusetts, Evan Loring is a senior manager at Congruity, where he maintains the annual budgets for the firm’s IT department. Previously he coached wide receivers at Harvard University. Evan Loring is a fan of music, especially Pearl Jam, Florence and the Machine, and Cold War Kids.

The California indie band Cold War Kids saw a resurgence in popularity with the release of 2014’s Hold My Home, an LP that hit number eight on the alternative album chart and spawned a gold-certified single “First,” which took over the music world. It was heard on American Idol and streamed more than 129 million times.

The year 2017 is gearing up to be another big one for the band, with the release of its sixth studio album out this spring and a new single, “Love is Mystical,” to be released in January. The band also will embark on a nationwide tour in March, hitting up 16 states as well as the Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival in Florida.
